The Tennis Channel Open moves to Las Vegas for the 2006 Tennis Channel Open. Formerly in held in Scottsdale, the relocation brings a professional tennis tournament back to Las Vegas for the first time in two decades. The Tennis Channel Open is a 10-day event with men’s, women’s, and juniors’ tennis tournaments that also features other events that focus on tennis and the tennis lifestyle. Previous winners include Andre Agassi and Lleyton Hewitt, as well as other up-and-coming men’s tennis stars. In addition to the singles tournament, the Tennis Open also features a doubles tournament. Brothers Bob and Mike Bryan have won doubles twice in the last four years. The Tennis Channel Open takes place at the Darling Memorial Tennis Center. Seated on 40 acres, the Darling Memorial Tennis Center features a complex with 23 courts, including the 2,300-seat center stadium court which can be converted with pull-out bleachers to hold over 3,000 spectators.
