Monster Jam
Monster Jam is held year round, with the competitive season typically from January to March. A few events in November are the start of the season. According to the United States Hot Rod Association, an average of 2.5 million people attend Monster Jam events each year.
Monster Jam trucks come from three main groups: they are owned by Live Nation, independently-owned trucks, or are corporate trucks from privateers. Mattel's Hot Wheels even has a toy version of the monster trucks, complete with the Monster Jam name. The trucks are officially licensed through Live Nation.
The Monster Jam television show began as Inside Monster Jam, which was a half hour clip-based show on ESPN back in 1997. Live Nation-Motor Sports bought USA Motorsports in 1998, and cancelled IMJ. The new show was now known as Monster Madness: Monster Jam on TNN. Eventually, it came to be just Monster Jam. Monster Jam was cancelled in 2003, and since 2004 the series has been aired on the Speed Channel.
