Gaylord Entertainment Center

The Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville is home to the National Hockey League's Nashville Predators. In addition to the Nashville Predators, the Nashville Kats of the Arena Football League call the Gaylord Entertainment Center home.

Built in 1997, the Gaylord Entertainment Center cost $144 million. Depending on the configuration of the Gaylord Entertainment Center, capacity is at 20,000. Gaylord Entertainment Center seats 17,523 for hockey. Other configurations place the Gaylord Entertainment Center at capacity of 18,500 or at 10,000 when the curtain is let down to mask half of the seating.

In 1999, Gaylord Entertainment Company planned on paying $80 million over 20 years for naming rights. But in early 2005, the Nashville Predators and Gaylord Entertainment Company agreed to terminate the deal. Until Gaylord Entertainment Center has a new name, many media people in the Nashville area have begun referring to Gaylord Entertainment Center by the arena's original name of Nashville Arena.

Gaylord Entertainment Center is also available to be rented by the public for a variety of uses. Rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, and holiday parties are just a few examples of events that take place at Gaylord Entertainment Center.

Previous events at Gaylord Entertainment Center include the United States Figure Skating Association National Championships in 1997, the United States Gymnastics Championships in 2004, and concert events like Paul McCartney.
