The Edmonton Oilers joined the National Hockey League Western Conference Northwest Division in 1979. Their team colors are midnight blue, copper, red, white, and silver. The Edmonton Oilers have won the Stanley Cup five times, with the most recent victory coming in 1990.

As one three teams in the NHL’s Northwest Division, the Edmonton Oilers call the ice at Rexall Place home. The two other Canadian teams are the Calgary Flames and the Vancouver Canucks, who play on their home ice of the Pengrowth Saddledome and General Motors Place, respectively. The Minnesota Wild call the ice at the Xcel Energy Center home, as the Colorado Avalanche do to the Pepsi Center.
