Located in Landover, Maryland, FedEx Field is home to the Washington Redskins of the National Football League. Currently the largest NFL stadium with a seating capacity of 91,665 people, FedEx Field also hosts college football's annual Prince George's Classic.

FedEx Field opened in August 1997. The cost of the $250.5 million FedEx Field was financed through both the public and the state. Owned by Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder and operated by the Washington Redskins, FedEx Field has a natural grass playing surface. FedEx Field was originally called Jack Kent Cooke Stadium after the former owner of the Washington Redskins. FedEx paid an undisclosed amount in 1999 for naming rights.

Even though FedEx Field is less than 10 years old, it has already undergone two renovations. The first one, in 1999, was a $35 million improvement. In 2000, $20 million was spent on a new owner's club suite level, escalators for the upper deck, and additional seats. Disabled seating is available on all five levels of seating at FedEx Field. Each of the five levels of seating bears the distinction of being named after important people in Washington Redskins history. The "George Preston Marshall Lower Level" and the "Joe Gibbs Club Level" are just two of the five levels.
