Baltimore Ravens | M&T Bank Tickets |

Opened in 1998 to house the Baltimore Ravens, M&T Bank Stadium, located in Baltimore, Md., is one of the most state-of-the-art stadiums ever built. M&T Bank Stadium was pivotal in enticing the Cleveland Browns to move from their outdated home in Cleveland. With the move came a name change to the Baltimore Ravens and promises of sports facility grandeur. M&T Bank Stadium includes two state-of-the-art SmartVision video screens that measure 100 ft. by 24 ft. The screens are the largest permanent computer-operated video display screens in any sports venue in the world. The playing surface at M&T Bank Stadium is Sportexe Momentum Turf. This sand and rubber infill surface is designed to maximize player speed and performance while simulating a natural grass surface. The field at M&T Bank Stadium was ranked sixth out of 31 fields in a 2004 poll. A Baltimore Ravens fan-favorite feature is the seating placement. The M&T Bank Stadium's intimidating front row is only 50 feet from the playing field sidelines and 20 feet from the back of the end zones.
M&T Bank Stadium was formerly known as Ravens Stadium and PSINet Stadium. After the 2002 death of hometown hero Johnny Unitas, public sentiment pushed for the stadium to be named after the Baltimore Colts quarterback. Instead, a plaza on the stadium's northwest corner with a bronze statue of the Hall of Famer was named Unitas Plaza. In 2003, M&T Bank acquired naming rights to the stadium. Rights to M&T Bank Stadium sold for $5 million annually over 15 years.
The original construction cost of M&T Bank Stadium ran $220 million. M&T Bank Stadium's seating capacity is 70,107, which includes 119 suites and 8,196 club seats. M&T Bank Stadium has also hosted other events including the Army-Navy clash in 2000, Maryland vs. Georgia Tech, Salisbury State vs. Frostburg State, and three Morgan State games. The 1998 HFStival held at M&T Bank Stadium sold out in under 90 minutes. The 15 bands of the festival attracted over 90,000 fans. Hard rock bands like Metallica, Korn, Kid Rock, Powerman 5000, and System of a Down rocked "the Vault." Navy vs. Notre Dame played at M&T Bank Stadium in 2002 and the NCAA lacrosse tournaments were held in 2003 and 2004. M&T Bank Stadium also served as the home field for the fictional professional football team the Washington Sentinals in the 2000 film "The Replacements."
Situated in downtown Baltimore at 1101 Russell St., M&T Bank Stadium is located near Oriole Park at Camden Yards, home of Major League Baseball's Baltimore Orioles. The exterior of the stadium complements its neighbor Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The facade consists of more than one million bricks, several thousand pieces of bluff-colored architecture, and prominent archways. While the stadium was under construction, the Baltimore Ravens played for two years at Memorial Stadium, the former home of the Baltimore Colts.
