Philadelphia Eagles | Lincoln Financial Field Tickets |

Home to the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League and the Temple Owls college football team, the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is commonly referred to as "The Linc." The new stadium was a replacement for the old Veterans Stadium, which was also the home of the Philadelphia Philliles of Major League Baseball.
When Jeffrey Lurie purchased the Philadelphia Eagles in 1994, he already had his sights set on building a new stadium for the team. Construction of Lincoln Financial Field finally began in May 2001, and the stadium was completed 28 months later. The inaugural NFL game was on September 8, 2003, and featured a matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Construction of Lincoln Financial Field cost $512 million. Financing for the project was provided by the state of Pennsylvania, the city of Philadelphia, the NFL, and the Philadelphia Eagles. Lincoln Financial paid $139.6 million for 20 year naming rights.
Just like Veterans Stadium, Lincoln Financial Field has a jail right in the stadium, complete with four jail cells. Seats along the sidelines of Lincoln Financial Field are only 60 feet from the field, as opposed to 120 feet like they were at Veterans Stadium. Unlike Veterans Stadium, there are no obstructed seats at Lincoln Financial Field. There are also 685 wheelchair-accessible seats, and the stadium is fully ADA-compliant. Seating capacity stands at 68,532 people, over 3,000 more than at the previous stadium.
The new video board at Lincoln Financial Field features HDTV flat-screen technology boards; each one spans almost the entire width of the playing field. The video boards are some of the biggest and most technologically advanced in operation, and every fan has an unobstructed view.
Previous events that were held in the Lincoln Financial Field include soccer games of the women's World Cup and three performances by Bruce Springsteen, both in 2003. The NCAA Lacrosse Championships were held in 2005, and the annual Army-Navy college football game has been played in Lincoln Financial Field.
