Invesco Field

Living up to the legendary Mile High Stadium was a tall order for Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado. After all, Invesco Field at Mile High had more than 40 years of Denver Bronco history to overcome. So designers of Invesco Field at Mile High didn't try to overcome it, they incorporated it. Steel treads and risers are used to create the same ear-splitting roar and home-field advantage that made the Denver Broncos home field famous. Invesco Field at Mile High also placed its seats in close proximity to the field and provided the same 76,125 seating capacity. Yet Invesco Field at Mile High is 1.8 million square feet of space, approximately twice as large as its predecessor.

Invesco Field at Mile High's $364.2 million dollar construction cost included a wave of modern upgrades, sculptures, and field innovations. It has wider concourses, wider seats, more restrooms, elevators, escalators, and full-service accommodations for people with disabilities. Seating includes 106 luxury suites and 8,500 club seats. Three video displays located inside the seating area at Invesco Field at Mile High include a large board on the South end with a viewing size of 96' x 27'.

When the two-time SuperBowl Champion Denver Broncos christened their new stadium in 2001, they enjoyed a 100 percent natural grass playing surface. However, Invesco Field at Mile High's grass is stabilized by 17 million grass-colored polypropylene fibers sewn into the sod to strengthen the bond between the sod and the ground. Underneath the sod, an extensive drainage and soil heating system allows the surface water to be drained with a strong suction system. Twenty-one miles of underground hot water tubing also keep the grass of Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium at 60 degrees.

Invesco Field at Mile High is also home to Major League Soccer franchise the Colorado Rapids and the Major League Lacrosse team the Denver Outlaws. Concerts and other events are also held at the facility. In fact, Bucky the Bronco was unveiled at an Eagles concert held at Invesco Field at Mile High after being moved from its 25-year home atop the scoreboard of Mile High Stadium.

Built next to the former site of Mile High Stadium, Invesco Field at Mile High is located at 1701 Bryant St. At Gate 1 of Invesco Field at Mile High, the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame Museum is open to the public year-round both during events and on non-event days. The Invesco Field is available for Private Parties for as many as 10,000 people. Additional parking can be found at the Pepsi Center and Auraria Campus, with complimentary shuttle service available during Denver Bronco games.
