Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers played their first season in the NFL in 1995 when they joined the Jacksonville Jaguars as an expansion team. As one of four other NFL teams including the Jacksonville Jaguars, the New Orleans Saints, and the Houston Texas as the only teams to never have won a Super Bowl, the Carolina Panthers first Super Bowl appearance was in 2003 where they lost 32-29 to the New England Patriots. The only other Carolina Panthers NFL Playoff appearance was in 1996 when they lost to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game.
When the Carolina Panthers made it to the Super Bowl in 2003, they finished the season with an 11-5 record and won the NFC South Division title. Just two years earlier, in 2001, the Carolina Panthers finished 1-15, having only won their season opener. The turnaround from 1-15 to a Super Bowl appearance in two years was one of the quickest two-year turn arounds in the NFL. The 2004 NFL season saw the Carolina Panthers finish the season 7-9 and come in third place in the NFC South.
As the 2005 NFL season continues on, the Carolina Panthers are in the hunt for another NFC South title. When they won the NFC South title in 2003, they won their way through the NFL Playoffs. The Carolina Panthers hope to not only secure another NFC South title, but to this time make their way through the NFL Playoffs and cap off the Carolina Panthers 2005 NFL Playoff run with a Super Bowl victory.
