The Texas A&M Aggies were a miserable bunch last season. After a 7-4 start to the season, the Aggies entered conference play and failed to win a single game. Coach Melvin Watkins was fired, and now the group in College Station is looking for a fresh start.

A fresh start is what they'll get. Texas A&M brings in new coach Billy Gillespie and eight new players, and it will be up to Antoine Wright to help bring order to the floor. The guard/forward was the Big 12's freshman of the year, and he earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors as well, and he'll be expected to carry the team his sophomore season. He's joined by Acie Law IV as the only returning starters, and he can play either shooting guard or at the point. More immediate help is coming from JuCo transfers Edjuan Green and Marcus McIntosh, who may step into starting roles immediately. A talented Texas freshmen class including Dominique Kirk, Kenneth White, Joseph Jones and Slade Weishuhn are expected to mature into productive Big 12 players.

The Aggies are looking to move in the right direction, and while their non-conference schedule won't earn them any respect in the eyes of the RPI system, it will help teach these kids how to win. After a winless conference season, that's the most important step.
