Despite having second billing in the state, Jim Woolridge did a fine job of guiding the undermanned Kansas State Wildcats to a .500 record. They finished 6-10 in conference, and they capped off the conference season with an upset over Texas. If they're going to make it to the next step, they're going to need a few more of those big wins.

Luckily for the Wildcats, their talented front court remains intact. Jeremiah Massey, Marques Hayden and Cartier Martin give Kansas State size and scoring ability. In a physical conference like the Big 12, sometimes that alone is enough to get the "W" in a fair share of games. In order to improve upon their 6-10 conference record, they'll need better backcourt play. That's where Dez Willingham comes in. He played decently in limited minutes last year, but he'll be in charge of running the offense this year. If his play improves like it should, then Kansas State should be able to steal some games.
