Colorado Buffaloes Mens Basketball

The Colorado Buffaloes had a fine season last year, even though they finished on the wrong side of the NCAA Tournament bubble. They finished fourth in the Big 12, and posted a final record of 18-10, and their finish surprised many in college basketball circles. The Buffs' season came to an end with an overtime loss to Oregon in the first round of the NIT.

CU will be without its two team leaders, David Harrison and Michel Morandais. Harrison passed on his senior season, entered the NBA Draft and was selected by the Indiana Pacers. He saw increased playing time after the Pacers suffered multiple suspensions. Morandais graduated and took his well-rounded game with him. In their places will be an intriguing cast of players new to Big 12 play, including JuCo transfers Lamont Arrington and Julius Ashby. Arrington figures to make the bigger splash, with a seven-foot frame that will be hard to box out. Antoine McGree, Colorado's starting point guard, will serve as the team leader, but freshman Richard Roby and junior Chris Copeland will be relied upon to do most of the scoring.

The 2004-05 season for the Colorado Buffaloes will be up in the air. With their natural home court advantage at elevation, and an ensemble of athletic swingmen, they may be young as far as a team is concerned, but they're capable of at least the occasional upset, if not more.
