A lot of was expected out of Arizona State last year, but to say they did not meet expectations would be an understatement. They finished 10-17 overall, and 4-14 inside the Pac-10 conference, which is disappointing for a team many picked to be a sleeper.

ASU still has Ike Diogu, and he'll help the Sun Devils hang around in games by will alone. The six-foot-eight-inch junior plays larger than his height, and is good for 20 points, eight rebounds, and a couple of blocked shots away. Usually a team with a solid inside game can succeed, especially when most talented big men are going straight to the pros. The problem has been finding players who can play well enough to take some of the load off Diogu. The Sun Devils will seek the help of a couple of JuCo transfers in order to spread the ball around. Byron Krueger and Tyron Jackson will back up Jason Braxton and Steve Moore, and if the team gets off to a rocky start, they could see increased minutes right away. Craig Williams will add size to the frontcourt, which is needed next to Diogu.

Diogu will get his job done, and now it's up to the rest of the team to do the same. The Sun Devils will be tough to predict, but chances are they won't repeat last season. A berth in the NCAA Tournament is more likely.
