FedEx Forum

Located in Memphis, Tennessee, FedEx Forum is home to the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association. The University of Memphis Tigers men's basketball team also plays their home games at FedEx Forum. Other concerts and events are held at the arena every year.

FedEx Forum first opened in September of 2004. Financing for the $250 million arena came from the public. FedEx Corporation paid the Memphis Grizzlies an undisclosed amount for an undisclosed amount of time for naming rights. While the first public events were held at the arena in September 2004, the first basketball game at FedEx Forum featured the Memphis Grizzlies and the Washington Wizards on November 3, 2004.

FedEx Forum was the first arena to install "see-through" shot clocks as to not interfere with the spectators' view of the action on the court. The Wachovia Center and Charlotte Bobcats Arena quickly followed suite. The arena has a capacity of 18,500 people for basketball games, including 2,500 club seats and 75 luxury suites.

Events other than sports have been hosted at FedEx Forum. Concerts such as R. Kelly and Jay-Z, The Rolling Stones, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra are just some of the many performances that have graced the FedEx Forum stage. Some examples of other acts at FedEx Forum include the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, World Wrestling Entertainment RAW, and The Wiggles. Throughout the year, there is sure to be something for everyone at FedEx Forum.

Getting there and getting around

FedEx Forum is located at 191 Beale St. at Third Street in Memphis, Tennessee. As part of the southern downtown area, FedEx Forum is easily accessible from I-40, I-55, and Midtown I-240. Roundtrip shuttle bus service and three trolley lines all run within a few blocks of FedEx Forum. Attached to FedEx Forum is the 1,500 spot Ford Parking Garage. There are an additional 6,700 parking spaces available within one quarter mile of the arena. Disabled parking can be found in the Ford Parking Garage, and the drop-off location is found at the north side of FedEx Forum.
