Many NASCAR detractors will say that every race is the same - four left turns around an oval track. To NASCAR racers and fans, however, they know that every track is unique, with some being more difficult than others. In fact, at some tracks, like Watkins Glen, you actually turn right.
Daytona International Speedway plays host to the Daytona 500, known to some as "The World's Greatest Race." No lead is safe with the two-and-a-half mile track, and the infield's Lake Lloyd adds a touch of unique scenery. Perhaps the only track more famous than Daytona is the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which hosts NEXTEL Cup events as well as the Indianapolis 500.
Slightly less famous than the Brickyard, but considerably more furious is Bristol Motor Speedway. Bristol is only fifth as long as Daytona, and offers some of the fastest and most intense racing experiences of any track in the nation.
Speaking of tough tracks, what about Darlington Raceway, AKA "The Track Too Tough To Tame?" The 1.366-mile track features a nasty fourth turn narrowed by Ramsey's Pond that's the site of plenty of pile-ups. Alabama's Talledega Superspeedway is another track that scares even the circuit's most seasoned drivers. Even though it's one of the few courses that have speed restrictions, the steep turns can cause quite a few 190-mph. crashes.
If you don't want to see a lot of caution flags, then the California Speedway is more your speed. Not only is it long (two miles), but it's among the widest the sport has to offer, making for fast, fluid and as close to wreck-free as you'll find. Michigan International Speedway is of the same caliber, with wide turns that can change the momentum of a race when you least expect it.
Wherever you go throughout the country, whether it's Martinsville, the Poconos, North Carolina or Kansas City, every track offers something different. No matter what style of racing you'll like, you'll find a bit of everything over the course of a NASCAR season. Check out the world's fastest sport by buying NASCAR tickets from buyselltix.com.
