Infineon Raceway

Located 30 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the Infineon Raceway is a gateway to the Sonoma Wine Country. Over the years, the Infineon Raceway has hosted such events as NASCAR Nextel Cup races, National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) drag races, and the IRL IndyCar Series. Due to the climate, Infineon Raceway is a year-round facility that has events scheduled 340 days a year, including 50 weekends a year. In 2005, more than half of a million fans visited Infineon Raceway.

Formerly Sears Point Raceway, the track features a series of complex twists and turns up and down hills. Infineon Raceway is one of only two NASCAR race tracks that does not take place on an oval track. The track at Infineon Raceway began as a 2.52 mile, 12 turn course, but was modified in 1998. With the modification, the Chute was created to bypass turns five and six, making the track only 1.95 miles long. The Chute is only used during the Dodge Safe Mart 350; all other events use the course with different modifications.

Allan McNish holds the record for the fastest lap at Infineon Raceway, with a speed of 112.440 M.P.H, set in 2000. Rusty Wallace holds the record for the fastest NASCAR Qualifying Record of 99.039 M.P.H., also in 2000. More than just the professionals can take to the track at Infineon Raceway. Other events held at Infineon Raceway feature the Jim Russell Racing Schools which offers Karting, and there are also Wednesday Night Drags, and Bracket Drag Racing, based on the experience of the driver.

Getting there and getting around

Infineon Raceway is located at 29355 Arnold Dr. in Sonoma, California, and is easily accessed from either Highway 101 or Highway 80. Parking is FREE for events at Infineon Raceway. FREE shuttles assist guests in traveling around the facility. An option to camp is available.
