Bobby Hamilton captured his first Craftsman Truck Series Championship in 2004 for both himself and Dodge Motorsports. While Dodge has won several championships in other Cup series, it was the first for Dodge in 10 years of truck racing. Hamilton's victory was also significant because it marked the first time since 1992 that a winner of a NASCAR series was not only the driver for his organization, but the owner of it as well. Dennis Setzer finished as the runner-up for the second consecutive season. Hamilton will try to become the first multiple-Craftsman Truck Series winner since Jack Sprague won his third in 2001. Ron Hornaday, Jr. is the only other driver to win the Craftsman Truck Series more than once in the organization's 10-year history. Mike Skinner was the first driver to win it, and he and a couple of other successful Craftsman Truck Series drivers have gone on to have success in the Busch Cup and Nextel Cup. Hamilton himself raced in all three NASCAR touring! series last year.
