The Meijer 300 Nascar Busch Series race is conducted at the Kentucky Speedway. The 2003 Meijer 300 was won by Bobby Hamilton Jr, after he overcame a pit-stop miscue at the Kentucky Speedway. Hamilton took to the pits during the first caution in the race, and a Nascar official ruled that the lugnuts on the front left tire of his Ford were not tightened properly. After he returned to pit row to remedy the situation and dropped to 13th, he worked his way back up and finally picked off three drivers in front of him. It was Hamilton's third straight finish within the top-six, and his first win of the season and second of his career. Developed on 1,000 acres, the $152 million Kentucky Speedway is a state-of-the-art venue for all stock and open wheel racing series. The Kentucky speedway features a 1.5-mile tri-oval, quarter-mile paved track and parking for more.
