New York Yankees Info
The New York Yankees began playing in Pro Baseball in 1901. Prior to their time in New York, the New York Yankees were the Baltimore Orioles in 1901 and 1902; the New York Highlanders from 1903 until 1912; and in 1913, they settled on the name the New York Yankees. In 1969, they were moved into the East Division of the American League. The New York Yankees lead all teams in Pro Baseball with 26 World Series titles. Their most recent World Series win was in 2000. The New York Yankees have also won more pennants (39) than any other Pro Baseball team. A New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox rivalry is one of the most heated in all of professional sports. The New York Yankees played in five different stadiums before settling into Yankee Stadium in 1913.
