San Diego Padres | PETCO Park Tickets |

The beach, picnic terraces, amphitheater bleachers, the right field porch, the roof of the Western Metal Supply Co. Building, and the dugout may all sound like locations for a scavenger hunt but they actually represent some of the unusual seating options at Petco Park, home of Pro Baseball's San Diego Padres. The 42,445 seats at Petco Park are said to be comfortable and have extra leg room. All seats are close and are angled toward the pitchers mound. Standing room and lawn seats raise Petco Park's capacity to almost 46,000. Terrace Infield seats are said to be the best in the park, but Petco Park provides lots of good ticket options at all price ranges. That may be why it was chosen to host the Semi-Finals and the Finals of the 2006 World Baseball Classic. Or perhaps because baseball's top players need a challenge. Petco Park has some of the longest outfield distances, even after one of the outfield fences was moved in to shorten the distance.
Petco Park is the new home of the San Diego Padres, who used to play at Qualcomm Stadium, which hosts the National Football League's (NFL) San Diego Chargers. Its construction stimulated a tremendous amount of growth in the surrounding area. The Park at the Park, a grassy berm sloping above the outfield fence, allows fans to sit and watch games for a small price. The beach area beyond the right field fence is another unusual feature of Petco Park. Other amenities of Petco Park include a kids amusement area and a little league infield next door.
The San Diego Padres $450 million home opened in 2004. Built in downtown San Diego, Petco Park's Indian sandstone and stucco design blends naturally with its bayside location. The 100-year old Western Metal Supply Company Building was renovated and incorporated as part of the design. It houses the team store, party suites, restaurants, and standing room only areas. Several 200-foot tall towers do everything from supporting lights for the playing field to housing some of Petco Park's 58 luxury suites and lounges. San Diego Padres fans can view San Diego Bay, Balboa Park, the mountains, and the San Diego skyline from within the confines of Petco Park.
Interesting concession choices at Petco Park include fish tacos, a Hebrew National kosher dog, BBQ ribs and chicken, and shrimp avocado salad. Saturdays are Coca-Cola Family Night. Also, San Diego Padres fans can tailgate at Tailgate Park on a limited basis.
