The Atlanta Braves of Pro Baseball play their home games at Turner Field. Built to be used during the 1996 Summer Olympics, the original capacity of Turner Field was 85,000 people. The stadium had the north end removed to cut the capacity down to 50,096 people for Atlanta Braves baseball games. The multi-million dollar renovation led to the Atlanta Braves new home of Turner Field beginning in 1997 when the first baseball game at Turner Field was April 4, 1997, when the Atlanta Braves hosted the Chicago Cubs.

Turner Field was built across the street from Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium, the original home of the Atlanta Braves. Commonly known as "The Ted," Turner Field was named after Atlanta Braves owner Ted Turner. The $200 million cost of building the ballpark was financed by the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, including revenue from the Olympics themselves.

The Grand Entry Plaza on the north end of the ballpark is one of the more unique features of Turner Field. Inside the Grand Entry Plaza are two food and game pavilions, Scouts Alley, and Cartoon Network's Tooner Field. The entertainment/concession area of the Grand Entry Plaza was designed with the fans in mind and to encourage them to arrive at Atlanta Braves games early. The Braves Hall of Fame Museum is adjacent to the Grand Entry Plaza. There are various other fan-friendly amenities located throughout Turner Field.

There are three levels of seating at Turner Field. Included in the second level are 58 private suites, three party suites, and the private membership 755 club. The upper level does not surround the park as to give fans a view of the downtown Atlanta skyline. The entire ballpark is wheelchair accessible. All levels of Turner Field offer wheelchair seating, which is subject to availability. Turner Field is one of the few stadiums that does not have bleacher seats.

Turner Field underwent a renovation in 2005. A $10 million video display board was added and it has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest high definition video board in the world. Along with the video board, a 1,080-foot LED was added to the upper deck with the intention of displaying advertisements and statistics.
