Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim | Angel Tickets |

Angel Stadium of Anaheim is home to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim play in the American League of Pro Baseball and are the only team that is currently utilizing the stadium. When the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football Team were in town, they played at the stadium from 1981 until they moved to St. Louis in 1994. Unofficially dubbed "The Big A" by Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim fans, Angel Stadium was built in 1966 at a cost of $24 million. The first Pro Baseball game at Angel Stadium was on April 19, 1966, when the California Angels hosted the Chicago White Sox.
In 1996, Angel Stadium underwent $118 million in renovations. Also in 1996, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim signed a deal with the city of Anaheim to keep the team in Anaheim until at least 2018. In the agreement, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim leased Angel Stadium for 33 years (including the 3-year renovation) but were provided with an option to leave after 20 years.
Special to the ballpark is the Outfield Extravaganza area. Located behind the outfield wall in left-center, the Extravaganza was designed with the rocky California coastline in mind. A 90-foot geyser, fireworks, and pyrotechnics come together to celebrate great plays that happen on the field. Capacity at Angel Stadium has fluctuated since it was first built. When it first opened, the seating capacity stood at 43,000 people. In 1979, the capacity was at an all-time high of 64,593 people. Finally, after the most recent renovations, Angel Stadium has a capacity of 40,500 people.
Many historical moments have taken place at Angel Stadium. When the 1967 Pro Baseball All-Star Game was played at the stadium, it was the first such game to be played on prime-time television. The 1989 Pro Baseball All-Star Game was also hosted at Angel Stadium. Nolan Ryan pitched not one, but two of his seven career no-hitters at Angel Stadium with the first in 1974 and the second in 1975. Reggie Jackson hit his 500th home run on September 17, 1984. Pastor Greg Laurie has been hosting Harvest Crusades annually at Angel Stadium since 1990. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim won the 2002 World Series when they won Game 7 at Angel Stadium against the San Francisco Giants.
