Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox joined Pro Baseball in 1901 when they became part of the American League; they would join the East Division in 1969. In the beginning, the Boston Red Sox had no name; they were known as the "Bostonians" or the Boston Americans. But in 1907, then-owner John I. Taylor decided to name the team the Boston Red Sox, which they have been known as ever since. The Boston Red Sox have won six World Series, with the first one in 1903 and the most recent in 2004. Even though the Boston Red Sox played in Huntington Avenue Baseball Grounds from 1901 until 1911, they have been playing their home games in Fenway Park since 1912.
