Oakland Athletics Info

The Oakland Athletics, more commonly known as the A's, began playing Pro Baseball in 1901 as the Philadelphia Athletics. Then the team moved and became known as the Kansas City Athletics from 1955 until 1967, and then moved to Oakland in 1968. The Oakland Athletics were named to the West Division of the American League in 1969. The Oakland Athletics have won nine World Series wins, tied for second-best in the Pro Baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals. The most recent Oakland Athletics World Series win came in 1989. As the Philadelphia Athletics, they played their home games at Columbia Park and Shibe Park. While they were the Kansas City Royals, they played in the Kansas City Municipal Stadium. When they moved to Oakland, the Oakland Athletics moved into McAfee Stadium and still play there today.
