The 2006 U.S. Senior open is scheduled from July 3 through July 9 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas. This year marks the 27th United States Senior Open. The U.S. Senior Open features a lower age limit of 50 and is open to amateurs, even though professionals typically dominate play. Qualifications for the U.S. Senior Open include, but are not limited to: any past winner of the U.S. Senior Open, winners of a Major Championship in the last 10 years, and the Top 25 finishers from the previous U.S. Senior Open. Allen Doyle won the 2005 U.S. Senior Open when he erased a nine stroke deficit in the final round. Past winners include Hale Irwin, Jack Nicklaus, and Lee Trevino. In 2006, anticipated players include Ben Crenshaw, Tom Kite, Greg Norman, and Fuzzy Zoeller.
