B.C. Open
The B.C. Open is an official PGA Tour event that has been held every year since 1971. It is one of the smaller events on the tour, and also takes place in the same week of July as the British Open.
Jason Bohn won the 2005 B.C. Open by one stroke. After spending a few years on mini-tours and spending five years on the Canadian Tour, he finally had his first PGA Tour tournament victory. In addition, Jason Bohn set a tournament record when he finished with a score of 24-under par 264. Previous winners include Fred Couples, John Daly, Fred Funk, and Tom Kite.
PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem is reportedly looking to shorten the PGA Tour beginning in 2007, and some tournaments are going to be dropped from the PGA Tour. According to an interview with the magazine Golfweek, the B.C. Open is one of those tournaments.
