White Stripes

A band of two people who have taken the stage by their songs, music just in no time and have already become legends. They are a new breed of rock artist who have taken over the fans like fire, bringing back the US punk. So band gained instant success, just after launching in 1997 their debut album "Let's Shake Hands" that they were the first performers to perform at the opening of 1998 Grammy Awards, rather a big honor. The band received two Grammy Awards in 2004 one for Best Rock Song and the second was for Best Alternative Music Album. The duo also received NME award 2004 for the Best Single for "Seven Nation Army". When the band released "White Blood Cells" which got excellent response. Following that the duo released "Elephant" which was recorded at London and had eight tracks. This album was a respite from the modern world's digital music. The band consists of two Jack White on the guitar/vocals and Meg White on the drum. The band is a bass-free which is rare in US bands. Jack started his career with a rock band The Go. Now Jack has made his debut in Cold Mountain by Anthony Minghella. The group will be performing on August 28 and 29 at the Carling Weekend Reading Festival.
