Weezer
Based in Los Angeles, California, Weezer is an American alternative rock group that has enjoyed immediate success. Composed of Rivers Cuomo on lead vocals and guitar, Patrick Wilson on drums and backing vocals, Scott Shriner on bass guitar, and Brian Bell on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Weezer is a group unlike any other.
Active since 1992, Weezer is currently signed with MCA Music, Inc./Geffen label. They are categorized under alternative rock, geek rock, and power pop genres. They have come out with several albums, the first self-titled album (also known as The Blue Album) was released in 1994. Their most recent album, Weezer - The Red Album, was released in 2008.
Weezer went on hiatus in 1997 after completing the tour in support of their album Pinkerton. Each member used the time away to do other types of work, from Patrick Wilson going home to Oregon to work on a side project, and Brian Bell working on his group, Space Twins. By 2000, the group was back, rested, and ready for action, and in 2001 they were ready to release Weezer - The Green Album.
