Formed by drummer Stewart Copeland in 1977, the Police first struck a chord with audiences everywhere with their song "Roxanne." After the success of Synchronicity the members of the Police began to experiment with their own solo careers. No official announcement of the band breaking up was ever released, but the member's solo work seemed to assume just that.
The Police were nominated into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 and reunited to play three songs together as a complete group. Several more appearances of the band would happen over the next several years with no official reunion ever taking place.
Now, in 2007, the Police are back together and ready to once again take the music world by storm.
