The Darkness

The Darkness is catching on, first in the United Kingdom and now in the United States. They are quickly becoming one of the finest and most entertaining bands on the music scene today. The Darkness is certainly a band that has had to earn it the hard way. They built their fan base through two years of touring clubs and small venues. And after putting in time on the small stage they began to get invites to front for larger groups, culminating in their breakout tour as the opening act for 70's super-group Deep Purple. With their success on the road helping bands such as Metallica, Def Leppard and Alice Cooper sell out large venues they were able to prime the public for the drop of their album, Permission to Land. When the Album did drop in 2003 it was an immediate success, due in large part to the countless sets they had played over the previous years establishing their name. They went on to win three awards at the prestigious Brit Music Awards, ending the year which they started as a relative unknown. Without a doubt The Darkness has taken hold of the rock scene by sticking to their roots and rockin' it to the bone.
