Stevie Nicks is one of the few artists who are able to have both a successful solo career while being a member of a hit band at the same time. While synonymous with Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks has also had an unrivaled solo career as a singer/songwriter. First breaking onto the scene as a member of the now legendary band Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks helped write some of the tracks off of the band's "White Album" that sold over five million copies world wide. While touring in support of their first album, Fleetwood Mac reached the highest levels of success when the album reached #1. Back in the studio, Fleetwood Mac began work on their second studio album, "Rumors". The album was released after a somewhat troublesome recording process in February 1977 and quickly become one of the best selling albums of all time (with over 19 million copies sold to date). After the release of a third album by Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks began work on her first solo album. She did some collaborative work with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on the album, entitled "Bella Donna", that was released in July of 1981. The album was heralded with critical acclaim and was the beginning of a legendary solo career for Stevie Nicks. Over the next several decades, Nicks continued to release successful solo albums while continuing to fulfill her commitment to Fleetwood Mac. By the early 90's, Nicks found herself in the middle of two incredibly huge musical careers and has never slowed down. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Fleetwood Mac and has numerous awards to her name.
