Rush

Rush is perhaps the greatest Rock band not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Consisting of Geddy Lee (bass/keyboards/vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar), and Neil Peart (drums), Rush has continually made music since their 1974 self titled debut album. Other studio albums recorded by Rush include: Rush (1974), Fly by Night (1975), Caress of Steel (1975), 2112 (1976), A Farewell to Kings (1977), Hemispheres (1978), Permanent Waves (1980), Moving Pictures (1981), Signals (1982), Grace Under Pressure (984), Power Windows (1985), Hold Your Fire (1987), Presto (1989), Roll the Bones (1991), Counterparts (1993), Test for Echo (1996), and Vapor Trails (2002). Other studio records by the band include: Not Fade Away (1973 - 7" single), and Feedback (2004). Official live albums recorded during a memorable Rush performance include: All The World's a Stage (1976), Exit...Stage Left (1981), A Show of Hands (1988), Different Stages (1998), and Rush in Rio (2003).

Rush won it's first Juno Award (Canada's equivalent to a Grammy Award) in 1974 for Most Promising Group of the Year, and then won Group of the Year in 1977, and again in 1978. It would not be until 1991 when they would win their third Juno Award, when they won Best Heavy Metal Album and Best Album Cover for Presto. In 1992, they won Best Hard Rock Album and Best Album Cover for Roll the Bones.

In 2004, Rush scored again, winning Music DVD of the Year for "Rush in Rio." In 1999, Rush became eligible to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH. Fans were shocked when the band was not inducted in its first year of eligibility, and have been shocked every year since then as the band has yet to be inducted. Each year when the ballots are sent in, fans voice their protests loud and clear, but the voters have refused to listen. Perhaps one day, Rush will enter their rightful place among Rock's greats in the Hall of Fame, and when that happens, their performance at the induction ceremony is sure to be one of the best ever.
