Lyfe Jennings

Born Chester Jennings in Toledo, Ohio, Lyfe Jennings is a platinum-selling R&B soul singer and songwriter. On top of having an incredible voice, Lyfe Jennings plays the guitar, bass and piano, all of which are integrated into his music.

After being sent to jail in 1992 for arson, Jennings stated that it was the turning point in his life to want to re-involve himself in music. He served 10 years behind bars, and spent it writing music and reconnecting his faith in God.

While in jail, Jennings started a music program at the Ohio institution. In December of 2002, he began to seriously pursue his career in music. On the second day after his release, he had finished recording a 4-song CD, and began performing at a club on day 3. By the next month, Jennings was receiving standing ovations for his original materials, and won several amateur competitions.

Lyfe Jennings began selling his independent EP, which began gathering the attention of local radio stations, and aided in the sale of thousands of albums. Soon he was receiving offers from major record labels, and the rest, as they say, is history.

To date, Lyfe has released three albums: Lyfe, The Phoenix and Lyfe Change. He is currently touring in support of his latest album, and is also campaigning for AIDS awareness.
