Latin Concert Tickets

With the growing number of Hispanic communities in America, it's no surprise that the U.S. is getting to know and love Latin music. However, even though the recent boom may suggest that Latin music is a new phenomenon, that is hardly the case.

Salsa, mambo, tango and other forms of Latin dance have been as popular in the ballroom as any traditional dance, and so have the big-band arrangements that have provided the music for them. Vocalists such as Astrud Gilberto ("The Girl from Ipanema") and Julio Iglesias have provided voices to match the sultry music.

The 1970s featured a boom in Latin instrumentals. Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria and Poncho Sanchez led highly successful bands, and jazz artists such as Herbie Hancock began putting tinges of Latin music in his jazz.

Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine landed several hits on the charts with highly danceable Latin tracks, and their success would open the door for the Latin artists we're all familiar with. Ricky Martin and "Livin' La Vida Loca," Enrique Iglesias and "Hero," and Marc Anthony and "You Sang to Me" - all these singers have become instantly recognizable. Even Jennifer Lopez has gotten in the act, with a couple hit albums and plenty of air time on MTV.
