Kid Rock, born Robert James Ritchie, combines many different types of music in his repertoire. Kid Rock began his hip-hop career at the age of 15. In 1991, Kid Rock drew a crowd of 700 people to The Majestic in Detroit. It has been said that his performance that night was talked about for many years afterward. While Kid Rock had released a handful of albums from 1989 through 1996, it wasn't until Devil Without a Cause was released in 1998 that Kid Rock found mainstream success. Devil Without a Cause went 11 times Platinum in the U.S. Kid Rock's 2001 follow up, Cocky, might not have garnered as much success, but it helped Kid Rock expand on his musical horizons. Until his upcoming release Live Trucker, due out in late February 2006, Kid Rock had not released an album in almost three years. Now, with a new album on the way, Kid Rock is back in action on a 23-stop tour. The Kid Rock concert tour begins February 18 in Orlando, Florida, and ends April 14 in Rosemont, Illinois.
