Harry Connick Jr

Harry Connick Jr. was born on September 11, 1967 in New Orleans. The son of two lawyers who owned a record store, Connick started playing the keyboard at the age of three, he first performed publicly at six, and recorded with a local jazz band at ten. Connick studied music with Ellis Marsalis at the New Orleans Center For Creative Arts. He released his debut self titled album in 1987, it was praised by Jazz critics for its mature and engaging style. Things really took off for him in 1989; "20", Connick's second album, garnered a great deal of critical praise for his abilities as a jazz pianist. His vocal contributions to the When Harry Met Sally soundtrack had critics hailing him as a second Sinatra. With Connick a major celebrity, he diverged into an acting career, playing a tail gunner in 1990's Memphis Belle.
