Dora the Explorer
Based on the Nickelodeon television show, 'Dora the Explorer Live' stars Dora, a seven year old, Latino girl who solves puzzles, sings, plays all with the help of her side-kick Boots and friends, Tico, Backpack, Benny, and Map. The friends travel on a journey to find Dora.s teddy bear, but they must watch out for the sneaky Swiper the Fox who is bound to bring trouble. Dora also includes her audience in aiding her in her puzzles and obstacles.
Throughout the show, the Latino culture is present in the music and language in the show, and the audience also learns Spanish as they journey along on Dora's adventures. The show runs for approximately 90 minutes and is enjoyed by children between the ages of two and seven.
This first ever Dora the Explorer stage production is directed by Gip Hoppe, who also worked on Nickelodeon's Blue's Clues Live. Chris Gifford who created the show with Eric Weiner and Valerie Walsh is the writer of the show. Walsh and Weiner are involved in the production of Dora the Explorer Live. The show will travel to cities around the United States and includes a total of 34 stops.
