Vicente Fernandez Information

Born in 1940 and raised in Huentitlan del Alto, Jalisco, Mexico, Vicente Fernandez won his first singing contest in Guadalajara at an early age. His first paid singing job was at age 21, when he performed on "La Calandrira Musical" at the age of 21.

Vicente Fernandez grew popular in Spain and Latin America, and had become somewhat of a popular figure with the ladies. By 1995, his tribute to Mexico's beloved Trio Los Panchos, appropriately called Recordando A Los Panchos, earned Vicente Fernandez considerable acclaim and resulted in two major hits: "Miseria" and "No, No, Y No."

Vicente Fernandez performed at Miami's American Airlines Arena in 2003, and was forced to pay $30,000 for performing over his allotted time. Add the fact that over 5,000 people attended his ceremony when he had his star placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and it is easy to see that Vicente Fernandez is an extremely popular and well-received performer.
