Tony Orlando Information

Tony Orlando started as a doo-wop singer with The Five Gents. He became a general manager at Columbia records but started singing again after recording a demo record. He was paired with Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent Wilson going by the name of Dawn. "Tie A Yellow Ribbon 'Round The Ole Oak Tree", "Knock Three Times," and "Candida" all hit No. 1.

The Trio Tony Orlando and Dawn then scored a weekly television variety show. Featuring Tonly Orlando of Puerto Rican and Greek origins, and Dawn, of African-American heritage, it was television's first multi-ethnic variety show. And it was a hit. No longer with Dawn, Tony Orlando still tours. Yet he has not released a new album in years.
