The Wailers formed in Jamaica in 1983. Current members of the band include Aston "Familyman" Barrett, Al Anderson, and Earl "Wya" Lindo. So far, the band has released six albums, with 2003's Live as their most recent release.
Originally Bob Marley and the Wailers, The Wailers struggled for 10 years following the 1981 death of Marley. Eventually, the legal matters were straightened out and The Wailers began releasing music and touring.
