Social Distortion Information

Punk rock band Social distortion formed in the late 1970s and has a list of former members three times the size of the band. Their music is fast, angry and energetic. They broke up following their 1983 debut album Mommy's Little Monster. After frontman Mike Ness overcame a heroine addiction, the band reunited.

Social Distortion is noted for long breaks between albums. They have a practice of playing songs for a long time before recording them. A series of lineup changes and the death of Dennis Danell in 2000 left Mike Ness as the only original band member.

Social Distortion has released six albums. The most recent Social Distortion release is 2004's Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll. Their song "Story of My Life" was featured in four different feature films, most recently The Break Up, starring Jennifer Aniston.
