The thrash-metal band Slayer is a driving force on the music scene even after two decades. Slayer is set to unveil their long waited first studio album. Christ Illusion, is planned for an August 8, 2006 release. This will be the first Slayer studio album since God Hates Us All in 2001
Founded in 1982 in California, Slayer has all its original members: Tom Araya on lead vocals and bass, Kerry King on guitar, Jeff Hanneman on guitar, and Dave Lombardo on drums. Along with the expertise of famed producer, Rick Rubin, Slayer worked to bring Christ Illusion to fruition. The new release is welcomed with great anticipation. Slayer will be headline a 2006 summer tour in support of their latest effort.
From Show No Mercy, their first album released in 1983, to the present, Slayer shows no sign of slowing down although their music has matured. Slayer has truly lived up to their title as creators of American thrash metal.
