Country singer Sara Evans was born February 5, 1971, in Boonville, Missouri. The oldest of seven children, Sara Evans began singing at the age of five with her family band. As soon as she turned 16, Sara Evans began singing in nightclubs.

When 1991 rolled around, Sara Evans decided to move to Nashville with hopes of becoming a country music star. She met Craig Schelske, became involved with him both professionally and personally, and they briefly moved to Oregon. They married in 1993 and returned to Nashville two years later. Harlan Howard heard Sara Evans sing one of his demos and picked her to sing his music. She was then signed to RCA.

In 1997, Sara Evans released Three Chords and the Truth. Praise from critics earned Sara Evans a spot on many Top 10 lists for album of the year. However, it failed to perform on mainstream radio and none of the singles hit the Top 40.

Sara Evans released No Place That Far in 1998. Although "Cryin' Game" failed to hit the charts, "No Place That Far," recorded with Vince Gill, was her first No. 1 single, and has since been certified gold. Born To Fly was released in 2000, and "Born To Fly" hit No. 1. "I Could Not Ask For More," "Saints and Angels," and "I Keep Looking" were all hits on the charts. The album has been certified double platinum.

In 2003 she released Restless featuring country, pop, blues, and soul. Three of the four singles hit the Top 40, with "Suds in the Bucket" hitting No. 1. Restless has been certified platinum.

Sara Evans was the most played female artist on country music radio thanks to "Suds in a Bucket" and "Perfect." Real Fine Place was released in 2005 and sold over 130,000 copies in the first week alone. Sara Evans was then nominated for two Country Music Awards; Female Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year. She lost both.

Feels Like Home was released in late 2005 only through Cracker Barrel stores. Sara Evans won an Academy of Country Music Award in 2006 for Female Vocalist of the Year. Sara Evans continues to tour in support of her music and is a popular draw with fans all over the country.
