Born as Robert Cummings, Rob Zombie has made a name for himself through various types of entertainment. In the beginning, Rob Zombie was the frontman of a band, and then he was a solo artist, then a video director and movie director, and finally, a comic writer.
Rob Zombie got his start as a production assistant on Pee Wee's Playhouse. Shauna Reynolds (later known as Sean Yseult) and Rob Zombie joined forces to create White Zombie, with Rob as the frontman for the band. White Zombie released three EPs through the indie label Silent Explosion. After a few more releases with various other labels, White Zombie finally signed with Geffen Records and Rob Zombie began to branch out on his own.
As a solo artist, Rob Zombie released a handful of albums. Past, Present & Future, released in 2003, is his best seller thus far, having gone Gold. During his time as a solo artist, Rob Zombie has directed music videos for various artists other than himself. Ozzie Osbourne, Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society, Powerman 5000, Prong, and The Ghastly Ones have all used Rob Zombie.
Once he began dabbling in video directing, Rob Zombie decided to try his hand at movie directing. House of 1000 Corpses was released in 2000 and the sequel, The Devil's Rejects, was released in 2005. As if his career as a solo artist and a video and movie director was not enough, Rob Zombie has recently tried his hand at comics. Spookshow International is a horror anthology designed as a House of 1000 Corpses continuation. Rob Zombie was also involved in the release of The Nail and Bigfoot. He continues to do all of those things today, including tours.
