Raycharles LaMontagne was born in 1974. Known simply as Ray LaMontagne, he claims to have heard a Stephen Stills song and at once decided to quit his job at a shoe factory to look into a career in music. He began touring in 1999 while working side jobs as a carpenter.
Ray LaMontagne released Trouble in 2004. It has since gone to sell over 400,000 copies worldwide.Till the Sun Turns Black was released in 2006.
