Pacific Symphony Information

Orange County's Pacific Symphony was founded in 1978 as the largest orchestra formed in the last 30 years; it is also the third largest orchestra in California. The orchestra works with today's most prominent composers and performers as well as performing many of the great orchestral works from throughout the years. Many feel as though the Pacific Symphony has played a big part in the growth of performing arts in Orange County.

Pacific Symphony puts on over 100 concerts beginning in the 2006-07 season(previously, they had put on 80 a year); in addition to concerts, the Pacific Symphony puts on education and community programs, and it touches an estimated 50,000 Orange County residents a year.

While a majority of their performances take place in Orange County, the Pacific Symphony went on a first-ever European tour in March of 2006. Some of the cities they performed in included Munich and Vienna. In 2005, the Pacific Symphony won the ASCAP Award for Adventuresome Programming.
