Ozzfest Information

Ozzfest is organized by Ozzy Osbourne and his wife, Sharon Osbourne. Ozzfest consists or two stages. The main stage is for headlining performers, with the second stage reserved for lesser-known up-and- c oming groups. While considerably smaller than other similar musical festivals, Ozzfest still manages to thrill fans of heavy metal music every place it stops.

While Ozzy Osbourne , either as a solo performer or with Black Sabbath , has always been a main attraction for a lot of Ozzfest attendees, Ozzy Osbourne had to drop out of performing in 2005 and has said he is not planning on taking the stage to perform at Ozzfest 2006. He has not ruled out special performances, however. Many bands such as Disturbed, Metallica, Slipknot, and System of a Down have all been in Ozzfest more than once. Every year, new and returning talent is showcased at Ozzfest.

The public has a chance by way of a survey found on the official site of Ozzfest, Ozzfest.com, to vote for who they would like to see perform at Ozzfest the following year. The first Ozzfest took place in 1996 and Ozzfest marked its 10th anniversary with the release of a DVD and live CD in 2005. Ozzfest is currently the longest-running rock tour in history.
