Michael Buble grew up in Vancouver, Canada. His grandfather was not only his best friend while he was growing up, but was also the one who introduced him to the music that had such an impact on his life. While he was growing up, Michael Buble listened to all kinds of music, especially rock ‘n roll. When Michael Buble first heard the Mills Brothers he realized then that he wanted to be a singer.
At 17 Michael Buble won first prize at the Canadian Youth Talent Search, which led to a release of a few independent albums. His wedding performance for the daughter of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney led to and introduction between Michael Buble and David Foster. David Foster was a multi-Grammy winning producer and Warner Bros. Records label executive. Shortly after the wedding performance, Michael Buble was signed to 143 Records through Reprise. In 2003, Michael Buble released his self-titled debut.
With the 2003 solo release, Michael Buble found himself on a world tour. During his time on the road, Michael Buble also made appearances on television shows such as the Today Show (where he sang a duet with Katie Couric). The year 2003 also saw the release of Michael Buble’s holiday EP called “Let It Snow” and 2004 began with the release of the CD/DVD set “Come Fly With Me.” Michael Buble’s 2005 release “It’s Time” hit No. 1 in Australia, Canada, Italy, and Japan. “It’s Time” cracked the Top Ten in both the U.K. and the United States. This Michael Buble release was the third-best selling CD of 2005, according to Neilson Soundscan reports. Micheal Buble has sold out concerts in four continents, and experts expect his current U.S. tour to bring him just as much success.
