Magnolia Electric Co Information

Jason Molina from Lorain, Ohio is the singer/songwriter of the Magnolia Electric Co. Other band members include Jason Groth, Michael Kapinus, Mark Rice, and Pete Schreiner. Songs: Ohia was Molina's first project, which eventually morphed into Magnolia Electric Co.

Songs: Ohia (the name is an allusion to the Hawaiian tree Ohi'a lehua and Molina's home state Ohio) existed from 1996 until 2003. During that time, the band released six albums, including 2003's Magnolia Electric Co.. Magnolia Electric Co. was a sign of things to come: the sound was more rock-driven and Molina allowed someone else to do vocals on two of the tracks on the album.

Magnolia Electric Co. changed their name in 2003. Magnolia Electric Co. has released three albums and one EP; Jason Molina himself has released two albums.
