Linda Eder Information

Linda Eder was born in Brainerd, Minnesota and has spent her time studying Judy Garland's films and recordings. Rather than be a copy of Garland, Linda Eder wanted to capture the strength and fragility of the singer's voice. In fact, Linda Eder's most recent release, By Myself: The Songs of Judy Garland (Angel), is a timeless tribute to her idol.

Linda Eder's parents introduced her to pop and classical music, but it was Garland, Barbra Streisand, and Eileen Farrell who really influenced her. Linda Eder spent her 20s working on her vocals and stage presence. When she appeared on Star Search in 1988, she would win 13 straight weeks. Following that, she earned the lead role in the Broadway-bound Jekyll & Hyde.

From 1994 and 2004, Linda Eder recorded various albums with Atlantic and Angel. She has even performed at the likes of New York's Carnegie Hall. In her personal life, Linda Eder is divorced from composer Frank Wildhorn, with whom she has a 6-year-old son Jake.
